Ashok Kumara, PhD is the founder and director of Sadhana School of Celestial Arts based in Seattle, WA and the Portal of Enchantment based in Sedona, AZ. Ashok studied South Indian classical vocal music for twelve years while growing up in India. In 1988 he moved to USA to pursue post-graduate education. After receiving Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington, Seattle, Ashok worked in the software industry for nine years.
In 2003 he awakened to his inner calling for spiritual evolution, quit software job to dedicate the rest of his life to Naada Yoga, the study of inner celestial vibrations. The result of extensive four year research on celestial sound techniques resulted in the creation of Naada Kriya Yoga, a comprehensive set of scientific techniques for training the voice instrument to effortlessly produce celestial music - music with powerful sound as well as expression.
Ashok gratefully acknowledges the telepathic instruction received from ascended masters Mahavatar Babaji and Siddhar Tirumoolar in the creation of Naada Kriya Yoga. Ashok offers comprehensive curriculum in South Indian classical vocal music at Sadhana School of Celestial Arts. Ashok developed a new methodology based on "enchantment and creativity" that applies to little kids as well as adults, and very suitable for parents and children to learn together in a joyful, harmonious and collaborative environment. Over two hundred enthusiastic students are currently part the Seattle student community, and the intelligence is spreading in Portland, OR and Edison, NJ through the work of dedicated teachers. Ashok uses a free-open-intelligence model which is based on abundance and enchantment, and assists motivated teachers to start their own schools using his curriculum and techniques as the basis, free of any financial entanglements. During the months of Jan-May and Oct-Dec in 2010, Ashok plans to spend around 50% of the time in the Sedona area and share his gifts through concerts, workshops and classes.
